[paragraph larger=”yes”]Capirolandia Group Family Daycare was founded by Madeline Barreto. Born and raised in New York until the age of 5 in which she moved with her family to Puerto Rico. There she completed kindergarten before moving back to NYC where she continued her studies highschool at Julia High School. After having her first child Madeline dropped out of high school and began working at local discount stores in Spanish Harlem. Then had he second child in 1988.

- In 1989, Madeline became a teacher’s aid at Mt. Carmel Holy Rosary School located in Spanish Harlem. This gave her first-hand experience working work students from ages between Pre-K through 8th grade.

- In 1991, Madeline moved back to her hometown Isabela, Puerto Rico, and finished her high school education while working at Froebel Bilingual School in Ramey Base located in Aguadilla Puerto Rico; as a Pre-K teacher’s assistant. Here she participated in several workshops and training that helped educate her on early childhood. At this time Madeline noticed how much she enjoyed working with children and decided to turn her passion into practice.

- In 1999, Madeline moved back to New York soon after having her third child. Both she and her husband thought it was best for her to stay home and care for her children when applying for unemployment she received a flyer of Satellite Child Care, in which so enrolled in and began training. She started that February and graduated June 22, and became a Child Care Provider.

- October of 2000, Capirolandia Group Family Day Care was up and running with 6 kids enrolled full time, ages 1yr to 10 yr.
Mother of three and grandmother to 10 Madeline continues to find her passion when working with children. Today Madeline continues to run a successful Daycare by being a member of NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and UFT (United Federation of Teachers). There she participates in every workshop given which allows her to be up to date with childhood development.[/paragraph]
